Jeanine Cowger Obituary, Victim In Deadly Union City Stabbing Identified

Jeanine Cowger Obituary, Death- Jeanine Cowger, a resident of Union City, met a horrible end on October 4, 2023, after an altercation in The Tropics mobile home park. Her legacy of strength, generosity, and community spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, even though she passed away at age 63.

Devoted East Bay local Jeanine Cowger was a rock for her friends and neighbors. She cared deeply for her children and grandchildren and was a dear friend to many. Jeanine’s unrelenting dedication to her family and her genuine sympathy for others were the defining characteristics of her life.

Those who were lucky enough to spend time in her company sought out her laughter and her advice. The Union City Police Department received a complaint about a stabbing at The Tropics mobile home park on the morning of October 4. Jeanine Cowger’s life was tragically cut short during this event.

The loss of such a gentle spirit leaves the neighborhood in disbelief. Two additional people were injured during the event, but they are both doing OK now. Although Jeanine has passed from this life, her legacy will continue on in the hearts of her family, friends, and the community she values so much.

After the tragedy, police showed unflinching commitment to finding those responsible and bringing them to justice. Carlos Daniel Hernandez, 21, of Mountain View was named as the suspect. After a brief pursuit, police were able to capture Hernandez, who was driving one of the victim’s automobiles.

Later, Mountain View police tracked down the vehicle and apprehended the driver. Union City will forever miss Jeanine, but we will never forget her legacy of love, compassion, and civic pride. We can find comfort in the idea that her life affected so many others, leaving behind a legacy of happy times and fond recollections that will last a lifetime.
